Abstract Poppies - Paired Collection

As the winter months dragged out, I yearned for color.  As with happiness, joy, and many other elements of life, sometimes we have to create your own.  After a few months of layering paints without a clear idea of where I was headed, I let it unfold.  I mixed in some imitation gold leaf so catch the light as it interacts with the space.  I layered the paint softly in the background, and used thicker texture in the forefront to create contrast.  
 
The result? A companion set of richly layered abstract landscapes inspired by wild poppy fields, shifting light, and the quiet atmosphere of open spaces. 
 
Painted in oil on wood canvas, each piece features expressive fields of abstract poppies accented with touches of imitation gold leaf that softly catch the light throughout the day. Though connected in palette and movement, each painting carries its own mood and sense of atmosphere.
 
One piece is enveloped in cool blues and soft morning fog, evoking stillness and early coastal light, while the other glows with saturated yellows and warm orange skies reminiscent of sunset over a distant field.
