As William Wordsworth wrote, "the world is too much with us." In the fast-paced lifestyle that many of us live, it is even more important to connect with the serenity that nature provides. Though we can't always do so easily, art can provide the necessary escape, even if only in our minds.
"Drift" is an oil painting of a still, tranquil lake with a solitary boat drifting near a dock underneath blue and pink-kissed skies. The cool tones amplify the serenity of the scene, bringing viewers to a place where they can breathe in the crisp, clean air filled with nothing but silence.
